AN ACT to amend and reenact §49-7-32 of the Code of West Virginia,
1931, as amended, relating to transferring the authority to
administer the juvenile justice database from the Department
of Military Affairs and Public Safety to the West Virginia
Supreme Court of Appeals.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §49-7-32 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 7. GENERAL PROVISIONS.
§49-7-32. Juvenile justice database.
The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals is responsible for
collecting, compiling and disseminating information in the juvenile
justice database. Notwithstanding any other provision of this code
to the contrary, the court shall grant the Division of Criminal
Justice Services access to confidential juvenile records for the
limited purpose of the collection and analysis of statistical data:
Provided, That the division shall keep the records confidential and
not publish any information that would identify any individual
juvenile.
